Ph.D. Candidate

I am currently doing a PhD in the warren lab group investigating the role of cytoskeletal crosstalk in vascular smooth muscle cell ageing.

I recently completed a Masters by Research in the Warren cardiovascular lab group. My research project was identifying shared post-translational modifications in VSMC matrix stiffness response and ageing. I learnt a host of skills including; primary cell culture, western blotting, polyacrylamide hydrogel based cell culture and confocal microscopy.

During my undergraduate project I worked in the Pöschl lab group where I investigated the effects of integrin alpha7beta1 deficiency on rates of cell death, migration and proliferation in satellite cells in mouse muscle fibres.
